Born in Quebec, Canada, Charleine experienced a strong artistic influence through her uncle, Paul Tremble, a well-known French Canadian artist. As a young girl she began to express herself creatively through being involved in the performing arts and painting. Her family relocated to California at a young age. In her early twenties, Charleine met her husband and settled down in southern California, where they began to raise a family. Always aware of her love of painting Charleine spent countless hours studying the works of artists she revered from impressionist to abstract fortes, taking classes when she could. After the last of her seven children entered school, Charleine embarked on a journey of self-discovery for her true passion. Inspired and stimulated by the simple splendor of the beauty surrounding her in Laguna Beach, she began to express her knowledge of art and unique style through her oil paintings featuring the southern California coastline. The artist within was unleashed and her legacy became clear; this had always been her passion.

Charleine's contemporary impressionist work is fresh, bold, unique and adventurous. She is an award-winning artist collected by art lovers across the globe. Her original style resonates and connects with those that experience the passion in her work. In her studio in Laguna Beach she paints landscapes, women and flowers.

Charleine has been exhibiting her work annually at the Laguna Beach Sawdust Festival for the past 18 years. Charleine continues to use her passion to inspire artists by teaching and promoting art through the Laguna Outreach Community Art and the Community Art Project. Charleine is a member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, which celebrates the artistic achievement of women, the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and Oil Painters of America.
